I had the front doors of the laser off, which might be a bad idea. In this photo you see the 'hatch' or top cover, and then two doors with key sockets on each side.
The two doors are actually one, but it is hinged in the middle so that you can fold down the top door.
Again, probably a bad idea. But it was convenient. With the doors off I can monitor the laser from my chair, and while they were off it gave me a new view into the cutting process.
The focusing laser comes down at an angle,
I had the front doors open, but not the top door, and I could see under the laser bed and got a different view. Here is smoke under the bed.
